MWGC Launched as a Gymnastics NSW Centre of Excellence
On a night of many annoucements and a great amount of celebrations, Gymnastics NSW CEO, Aaron Bloomfield, officially announced the Manly Warringah Gymnastics Club as a 'Centre of Excellence' in education. MWGC was chosen due to its community spirit, terrific facilities and the high level and expertise of the club's coaches. With 40 000 odd members participating in gymnastics across the state in addition to the tens of thousands through school providers, Mr Bloomfield spoke of the need for there to be opportunities for every child to participate in gymnastics in some point of their life, to benefit from the significant development benefits as the 'Nursery of the Sport'. The 'Centre of Excellence' in education concept recognises this and seeks to provide training for coaches and identify potential presenters to localise the delivery of education, thus increasing the capacity to provide quality gymnastics programs. Manly Warringah Gymnastics is one of many clubs that will be announced as a Centre of Excellence, as Gymnastics NSW continually looks to increase the resources of our affiliated clubs. http://www.gymnsw.org.au/?Page=24767
