STATE CLUB RESULTS

We are so excited to have been awarded the Overall State Club Champion across WAG & MAG at the Gymnastics NSW State Club Championships. Both WAG and MAG placed second overall in their respective competitions. 

We are so proud of everyone who represented Manly at the competition. You all did us proud.

We saw a number of podium finishes across various apparatus but the following teams got on the podium for all-around:

WAG Level 9 (1st)

MAG Division 6 - 6 open & 7 open (1st)

MAG Division 8 - Masters (1st)

WAG International (2nd)

WAG Level 6 Division 2 (2nd)

WAG Level 5 Division 2 S8 (2nd)

MAG Division 2 - 2 U8 & 2 open (2nd)

CONSULATE OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA EVENT

Our CEO, David Krantz and WAG Head Coach, Xiaoqing Li, were invited to a special event at the Consulate of the People's Republic of China last Friday.  Guest included the Governor of NSW Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, City of Sydney Deputy Lord Mayor Robert Kok,  Federal Member for Bennelong Jerome Laxale, and Acting Consul General Wang Chunsheng. This was a great opportunity to showcase MWGC with Xiaoqing having coached both China and Australia at Olympic Games.

CALISTHENICS TRIAL

Adults - Have you been watching your gymnasts and been hoping for an opportunity to get on our equipment?

We are bringing you the ultimate way to build strength, endurance and coordination with the debut of our new Calisthenics strength & conditioning program. Don't be intimidated by the name, the program is for anyone looking for a fitness program. Our expert coaches will ensure everyone who attends will be doing appropriate skills to their abilities and will walk out feeling like they have worked hard.

When: Tuesday & Thursday | Time: 6am - 7am | Dates: Starts October 15th. | Price: Special Trial offer - $120 for 1 month. 

Why Calisthenics?

Its a powerful form of resistance training using just your body weight and gravity. Perfect for enhancing strength, mobility, and endurance while connecting with the Greek roots of beauty and strength.

Flip-A-Thon 

What? Similar to a walk-a-thon or a fun run, but GYMNASTICS STYLE! Competing at 3 different levels based on skill ability the kids "flips" will be cartwheels, back handsprings or back tucks. Kids interested in participating will be able to download a sponsorship Google doc or pick up a physical form from the office in the coming days. They'll fill up their forms by asking friends and family if they'd like to sponsor them for the Flip-A-Thon to help fundraise for MWGC. Sponsors can choose to donate a "per flip" amount or a flat rate. The sponsoships that the kids raise will be tallied up, including all "per flip" payments (we will have staff counting each participants number of "flips") and the top 3 fundraisers will get a prize!

Why? We wanted to try a new style of fundraising for the gym, and we're helping some uni students doing an event planning degree by hosting an event planned entirely by their team!

TEAMGYM RESULTS

We're thrilled to share that our Junior TeamGym squad, affectionately known as "Little Manly," recently made their debut at the PCYC Spring Carnival! This marked their first away competition, and the energy was electric.  The team showcased their hard work and dedication, whilst having a ball of fun, setting a positive tone for future competitions.

WAG UPDATE

What a massive month for our WAG team.  We are all so proud of all of our athletes who competed at State Club Championships helping contribute to us taking home the Overall Champion Club for 2024. 

We would also like to congratulate and wish our very best to all of our athletes currently competing at Nationals Clubs.

Our seniors competed at Winter Wonderland, seeing some fantastic results leading into State Clubs with - Meile 1st AA, Lukina 4th AA, Elizabeth 1st AA, Mia 3rd AA, Dani 2nd AA

MAG UPDATE

What an incredible September it has been for our MAG program!

The start of the month saw our entire program join forces at the Gymnastics NSW State Club Championships. From our youngest Level 1 to our most experience Level 10 athletes (and even some of our retired coaches) took to the floor amoungst some fierce competition, and finished in the runner-up position as the overall MAG Champion Club at the event.

A few short weeks later and now it was time to compete at the Gymnastics Australia National Clubs Carnival which was held on the Gold Coast. Our Level 6+ athletes performed incredibly in their divisions with countless podium results, all culminating the the MAG program being crowed the 2024 Senior Champion Club, Our level 3 - 5 athletes backed up the week with some stellar performances which saw MWGC maintain a top 3 position in the Overall Champion Club for 2024.

For our senior athletes, this brings and end to their competition season with our junior athletes only having their pinnacle event, the Junior State Championships, remaining. We look forward to seeing how the boys can close out 2024. 

RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS

A Special shoutout to our incredible coaches, Caedyn and Kent, who not only led the team with enthusiasm but also represented our club at the inaugural OGU Parkour Summit in Bunbury, WA. Their participation in this event provided valuable insights into the latest trends and techniques in parkour, which they're excited to bring back to our training sessions.

We're proud to announce that Caedyn and Kent successfully completed their FIG Academy coaching course!  This achievement enhances their coaching creditials and ensures that our athletes receive the highest quality training.  The skills and knowledge gained will undoubtly benefit our athletes as they continue to grow and excel.

UNDER 5's

We're excited to offer some brand-new classes for Term 4, perfect for keeping your little one active and engaged.  Whether they're just starting out or continuing their gymnastics journey, these classes are designed to help develop confidence, coordination, and a love for movement.

NEW Sunday Classes: Due to popular demand, we will now be opening a 10.35am KINDY GYM and a 10.35am MINI GYM on Sunday mornings.

NEW Free Play Sessions: Every weekday from 10.30-11.30am your child can now enjoy an extra hour of gymnastics - adult supervision is mandatory!

Bonus for Members - If your child is an existing member and attending the 9.30am class, they can stay on for the Free Play session FREE OF CHARGE. It's our way of giving back to our loyal members.

Not a member OR wanting to join free play on a different day to your usual class - A cost of $15 will be required for any non-members or members wanting to join our free play on a different day to their usual class.

AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS UPDATE

Gymnastics Australia has announced the movement of the Australian Championships from May to July 2025.  The shift will significantly impact State, Regional and local event calendars.  Gymnastics NSW is collaborating with community experts and partners ahead of their State calendar release. We will communicate with our gymnasts when the information is available.
