Xiaoqing Li selected as Olympic Coach

Manly Warringah Gymnastics Club Women's Artistic Gymnastics Head Coach Xiaoqing Li was selected as one of the Australian coaches for the 2024 Olympic Games. Xiaoqing had previously represented China at the 2000 Olympics and since her move to Australia it has always been a dream of hers to wear the green and gold.

It isn't common practice for Gymnastics Australia to send a coach to the Olympics if that coach doesn't have an athlete competing, which demonstrates the standing and respect Xiaoqing has in gymnastics in Australia.

Despite her wealth of experience, we have no doubt Xiaoqing will learn some new things that she will be able to bring back and impart on our gymnasts. We are so fortunate to have Xiaoqing be a member of Manly Warringah and we're so proud of everything she has achieved.

Tumble & DMT World Cup

During the school holidays our Tumbling Coordinator and coach, Bianca Zoonekynd competed on the international stage for South Africa in both Tumbling and Double Mini Trampoline over in Portugal.

Up first was the Coimbra Cup. Bianca placed first in the prelims and came hold with the gold in the finals for the Double Mini Trampoline event. Bianca's team also won gold in the team event. An amazing achievement. In the Tumbling event Bianca put up 2 stunning finals passes to secure her the gold medal with her team taking out the silver in the team event. In the World Cup event Bianca missed out on the finals due to a poor first pass despite putting up a competition high 27.0 on her second pass.

In the Scalabis Cup Bianca unfortunately suffered an injury and was unable to compete. She has begun her road to recovery, setting her signs on the World Championships in Spain next year. We are so proud of Bianca and these brilliant results.

On Saturday 27th July we hosted a successful Mini's Arvo Out which saw 20 Under 5's join us for a fantastic afternoon of gymnastics.
